Holy christ my old Scout keeps going up and up in price. I sold it for 8 in the same condition, I saw it for sale again locally for 13-14 last year, now it is up to $25K? Are you kidding me? I mean it was a damn nice truck, but no scout is worth that.

I'd pay $35k for those seats alone!

So rare to find one intact and not rusted out up to the door handles. Hot tip: Blazers, Jimmys, Broncos, Trailblazers, and TrailDusters are all going to be selling on the mid-20's pretty soon. The full size units, nobody will ever want the compact versions.

Granted that the guy is batshit loco trying to get $25k for it (probably), it's presumably still going to sell for more than it did last time. Think there's just a segment that suddenly realized there are none this good left?

By "what it is", the price doesn't make sense. "Rarity" at least in this shape, has probably finally slammed into a collector niche.

I had 2 others I worked on that were just as rust free though!

Both diesels too. None sold for over 10!

I'm guessing it's something about the trim stripe, color, interior, and diesel all together in that condition that is making a rare kind of psychotic venture forth from his tent of '74-'76 L.L. Bean catalogs in a cabin with plaid wallpaper and clean up his army surplus aluminum cookware... just long enough to realize there is a prize. A vehicle, which is finally worthy - and he shall claim it.

Not that I would know anything about that.

I'd substitute appropriate descriptive terms for the Mercedes driving cult to compare, but it's a harder stereotype to paint an ur-example of.
